Small alphabet of life on board
Here you will find an overview that may already answer one or two questions. For anything not listed here, it's best to ask me directly.
You will receive all travel information with the booking confirmation. If you have any questions, the skipper can be reached at ahoi@nordpohl.me or +49 173 786 81 55 .
Everyone pays port fees, diesel and food into the on-board fund - this is included in the cruise price.
You do not need any sailing experience. The skipper can steer the boat alone, but your help with the necessary maneuvers is still welcome. Sailing with the crew also allows you to develop new skills. Household chores are traditionally a crew task - as are your daily coaching exercises.
Showering on board is possible, but cramped - there are usually more comfortable shower rooms in the harbors.
We shop together, cook on board or eat out depending on what we fancy.
Shore excursions, reading, swimming, reflecting - you decide how active or relaxed your time on board will be.
Pack light and weatherproof. Warm, comfortable clothing, a waterproof jacket and trousers as well as sporty shoes with abrasion-resistant soles and headgear are essential.
We usually moor in a port or marina every day - for shore leave, shopping or simply to enjoy ourselves. On request, we can also anchor in a bay for a night.
Wi-Fi is usually available in the harbors - otherwise we are connected to the G-5 network on board. A little tip: It helps to be offline when you're underway so that you can focus entirely on yourself and coaching under sail.
A waterproof jacket with a hood protects you from wind and spray - make sure you pack it!
On the water, we are connected to the DGzRS (German Maritime Search and Rescue Service) by radio with the call sign DA 7720 and, thanks to the 5G network, can usually also be reached by mobile phone. Our navigation data is continuously transmitted to Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder.
Whether sightseeing or walking - we plan daily stops ashore
Sleeping on deck is possible - but often damp. Best only in midsummer.
The skipper knows the route and the weather - you can sit back and relax, enjoy the view of the water or help steer.
Consideration and order help in confined spaces - together we ensure a pleasant coexistence.
What you need is on the packing list - please read it beforehand and bring everything you need.
Since 1959, Conyplex - Contest has been known for producing sailing and motor yachts of the highest quality. Advanced construction methods such as five-axis CNC cutting or vacuum bonding of the teak deck ensure the accuracy and consistency of the yacht. High-quality workmanship and outstanding seaworthiness characterize the ship with which we are underway. The SY NORDPOHL has been technically inspected.
Rubber boots and rain gear are very useful for spring and fall cruises!
Can occur, usually only lasts for a short time. Home remedies such as ginger help, please test medication beforehand and take it shortly before the start of the trip. At the end of the trip, you will receive confirmation of the nautical miles you have covered from the skipper.
Your return journey is easy to plan: we are usually in the port of destination on the evening before the last day of the trip
Everyone has their own bunk. The cabins are compact but cozy.
The skipper keeps an eye on the weather. In the event of a storm, we stay in the safe harbor or, if the storm comes up en route, we head for it immediately.
Talk to us - many individual wishes can be realized on board.
Simple, intense, close to nature & true - that's life at sea.
